Backend Engineer (SDE2 & SDE3)

Role summary We require three highly experienced Backend Engineers with strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot and modern cloud-native application development. Candidates should have deep hands-on experience across application development, distributed systems, API design, security, and observability. Project overview We are hiring software engineers in India for a UK compliance-related greenfield project in the retail sector. The work requires enterprise-grade Backend Engineering capabilities. Required technical skills Core development • Java • Spring Boot • Spring Security• Microservices Architecture Databases • Couchbase • PostgreSQL • Data modeling and performance tuning Cloud & infrastructure • Microsoft Azure • Cloud-native application design • Containerization and deployment practices • CI/CD implementation API & security • REST API design and development • OAuth 2.0 • Authentication and authorization frameworks • API lifecycle management Observability & monitoring • Splunk • New Relic • Logging, monitoring, and application diagnostics Desired skills • Event-driven architecture experience • Messaging platforms (Kafka or similar) • Performance engineering and scalability optimization • Infrastructure as Code concepts • DevOps and SRE practices Experience requirements • 8+ years of software engineering experience • 5+ years of Spring Boot development experience • Proven experience building and supporting large-scale distributed applications • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience Key responsibilities • Design and develop scalable backend services and microservices • Build secure, high-performing REST APIs • Implement OAuth-based authentication and authorization mechanisms • Deploy and manage services in Azure environments • Establish monitoring, logging, and observability using Splunk and New Relic • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions
