The company is expanding its project and construction activities and is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer / Project Head to take responsibility for the execution and supervision of construction projects. The position is suited to a hands-on Civil Engineering professional who has experience working on EPC, turnkey construction or civil construction projects and is comfortable managing site execution, contractors, workers, materials, drawings, quality and project progress. Position: Project Head / Senior Civil Engineer The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of civil construction projects from drawings and planning through site execution and completion. The candidate should be able to understand technical drawings, translate them into site activities, prepare/verify BOQs, supervise contractors and workers, monitor progress and ensure that construction is completed according to approved specifications, quality standards and timelines. This is a hands-on project execution role and requires regular presence at construction sites. Key Responsibilities • Project Planning & Execution Plan and coordinate day-to-day civil construction activities. Manage project execution according to approved drawings, specifications and timelines. Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers and site teams. Monitor project progress against the planned schedule. Identify delays and execution issues and take corrective action. Ensure projects are completed within the agreed timeline and budget. • Site Management The candidate will be directly responsible for site execution, including: Supervising day-to-day construction activities. Managing workers, supervisors and contractors. Allocating manpower according to project requirements. Monitoring daily site progress. Maintaining daily site reports. Checking material requirements and availability. Coordinating different activities at the site. Ensuring proper housekeeping and site discipline. Identifying execution problems and resolving them promptly. • Architectural Drawings The candidate should be comfortable reading and interpreting: Architectural drawings Floor plans Elevations Sections Layout drawings Detailed construction drawings The candidate should be able to translate architectural drawings into practical site execution requirements. • Structural Drawings Experience in understanding and working with structural drawings is required, including: Structural layouts Column layouts Beam layouts Slab details Structural sections Construction details The candidate should be able to coordinate structural requirements with the site execution team. • Foundation Layout & Execution The candidate should have practical understanding of: Foundation layouts Excavation Footings PCC Reinforcement Foundation levels Concrete work Foundation inspection Execution as per structural drawings The candidate should ensure that foundation work is executed correctly before proceeding to subsequent construction stages. • Reinforcement Details Hands-on knowledge of reinforcement work is required. The candidate should be able to understand and supervise: Reinforcement drawings Bar bending details Rebar placement Column reinforcement Beam reinforcement Slab reinforcement Footing reinforcement Reinforcement quantity and spacing Reinforcement inspection before concreting • BOQ & Quantity Understanding The candidate should be capable of preparing, understanding and verifying BOQs from drawings. Responsibilities include Reading drawings and extracting quantities. Preparing quantity estimates. Checking contractor BOQs. Verifying material quantities. Monitoring material consumption. Identifying quantity variations. Supporting project cost control. Strong understanding of construction quantities and materials will be an important part of the role. • AutoCAD / Design Software Candidates should have working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design/drawing software. The candidate should be able to: Read CAD drawings. Understand dimensions and layouts. Review drawings for site execution. Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions. Coordinate drawing requirements with consultants and contractors. Ability to work with other relevant design or construction software will be an advantage. • Quality Control The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction work meets the required quality standards. This includes Checking workmanship. Monitoring concrete and civil works. Ensuring construction follows approved drawings. Inspecting reinforcement before concreting. Monitoring material quality. Identifying defects. Ensuring corrective work is completed. Maintaining proper quality documentation. • Health & Safety The candidate must ensure that appropriate safety practices are followed at the construction site. Responsibilities include Monitoring site safety. Ensuring workers use appropriate safety equipment. Maintaining safe working conditions. Identifying site hazards. Ensuring contractors follow safety procedures. Reporting and addressing safety concerns promptly. • Contractor & Workforce Management Supervise contractors and subcontractors. Monitor workforce productivity. Allocate manpower according to requirements. Track contractor performance. Ensure work is executed according to specifications. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors. Resolve day-to-day site issues. The candidate should be comfortable managing a multicultural workforce and working directly with site-level personnel. • Project Reporting Prepare regular reports covering Daily site progress Work completed Work pending Manpower deployment Material requirements Material consumption Quality issues Safety issues Contractor performance Project delays Upcoming activities The candidate will be expected to provide management with clear and accurate updates on project status. Required Experience B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Minimum 5 years of relevant civil construction experience. Experience with EPC, turnkey or large-scale civil construction projects preferred. Strong hands-on site execution experience. Experience managing contractors and workers. Experience reading architectural and structural drawings. Experience with BOQ preparation/verification. Practical knowledge of foundations and reinforcement. Experience with construction quality and safety. Candidates from reputed EPC, construction, infrastructure or turnkey project companies will be preferred.
