The Material Coordinator is responsible for managing, tracking, and ensuring the timely availability of construction materials at the site. This role ensures smooth workflow by coordinating procurement, delivery, storage, and distribution of materials in alignment with project schedules and quality standards. Here’s What You Need • Material Planning & Procurement • Coordinate with procurement team and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials. • Verify purchase orders against project requirements and specifications. • Track material requisitions from site engineers and project managers. • Inventory Management • Maintain accurate records of materials received, issued, and stored. • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies. • Implement proper storage practices to prevent damage or wastage. • Logistics & Coordination • Schedule and monitor deliveries to avoid delays in construction activities. • Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and site teams for smooth material flow. • Ensure compliance with safety and handling standards during unloading and storage. • Documentation & Reporting • Prepare daily/weekly material status reports for project management. • Maintain material issue slips, delivery notes, and stock registers. • Support audits by providing accurate documentation of material usage. • Quality & Compliance • Inspect materials upon delivery to ensure they meet quality standards. • Report and resolve issues related to defective or incorrect materials. • Ensure compliance with company policies and construction regulations. Key Competencies • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders. • Commitment to safety and compliance standards. Here's what you'll need • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. • 10+ years of experience in material coordination or inventory management at construction sites. • Strong knowledge of construction materials, procurement processes, and logistics. • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, or inventory management software. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
