Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2+ years of experience to develop and coordinate mechanical system layouts, ensure compliance with international standards, and deliver integrated design solutions for major building projects. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and validate mechanical system designs and calculations for HVAC, water supply, and fire protection in accordance with project requirements and global codes. • Develop and review technical drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, and design documentation. • Select and specify mechanical equipment based on project analysis, performance data, and regulatory standards. • Liaise with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines for effective spatial coordination and integrated system design. • Support clash detection, resolve technical queries (RFIs), and contribute to internal design reviews and project milestones. • Stay updated on industry best practices, contribute to process improvements, and mentor junior team members. Technical / Must-Have Skills • Advanced proficiency in mechanical design (HVAC, WS/PL, fire protection) and use of AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit. • Strong command of international standards/codes (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NFPA, IPC) and familiarity with Gulf/US/UK practices. • Proficient in engineering tools (such as HAP, Elite Fire, TRACE, MS Excel-based design templates). • Strong documentation, analytical, and technical communication skills. • Demonstrated coordination with cross-functional teams and adaptability to new tools.
