Backend Engineer

About the Role Location: Hyderabad, India | Experience: 3–4+ years | Employment Type: Full-time We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems powering our core platform. This role requires strong hands-on expertise across the full backend stack—from relational and caching layers to microservices, cloud infrastructure, and observability. You'll work closely with product, DevOps, and QA teams to ship reliable, high-performance services. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop microservices using Java (8/17/21) and Spring Boot • Write and optimize SQL — indexes, triggers, stored functions/procedures — across MySQL and PostgreSQL • Build and maintain caching layers using Redis, including TTL-based expiry and pub-sub messaging • Implement authentication/authorization flows using Spring Security • Build and maintain scheduled/batch jobs with proper unit test coverage • Integrate GIS/ESRI-based mapping features where applicable • Deploy and manage services on Azure (containers, Service Bus, Entra ID, Blob Storage, Key Vault) • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Docker images, and Terraform-based infra • Monitor production systems using Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Sumologic • Debug production issues quickly and independently • Collaborate using Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub) with clean commit and review practices Required Skills • Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, microservices architecture, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, debugging • Experience with schedulers/batch processing and unit testing frameworks • Git-based version control (GitLab, GitHub) Good to Have • GIS/ESRI or map-based integration experience • Exposure to Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or Sumologic • Azure ecosystem: AKS/Container Apps, Service Bus, Entra ID, Blob Storage, Key Vault • CI/CD pipeline setup, Docker, Terraform Education Tier-1 engineering institute preferred (IIT/NIT/BITS/VIT or equivalent international university).
