The Client and Identity Engineering team is accountable for establishing the user identity and endpoint security infrastructure in Airbnb's corporate environment. Client and Identity Engineering encompass corporate zero trust deployments. Our systems enable all Airbnb employees and partners to have secure access to the data they need at the right time and in the right context. We provide Airbnb employees and partners with the best-in-class experience, enabling them to effectively build our platform. The Difference You Will Make: The team works on systems which have higher reliability and security requirements than most backend systems or services. Our products are critical services, downtime across these services can result in downtime for Airbnb employees and partners. In addition, the team collaborates closely with our security engineering teams to design new features and evolve the platforms to meet the engineering challenges as business needs present themselves. As a Software Engineer, you will build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure systems that underpin the entire Airbnb Zero Trust ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in the execution for these critical platforms. This is an opportunity to be a part of impactful work, and contribute to the safety and trust of the Airbnb community. A Typical Day: Work with open source products to build the next generation client platform for all Airbnb corporate endpoints. Build on our zero trust back end suite, supporting security services, network paths, and user and device signaling, with a mind for enabling value for the business for their best work. Work with product and engineering teams to optimize endpoints for Airbnb employees and partners; Your Expertise: Bachelor's and/or Master/PhD's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience in test driven software development. Extensive experience with Go, Python, or Java (Go strongly preferred). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code deployments. Experience developing and deploying services in a Kubernetes environment. Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well within engineering organization and cross functions Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers. Show motivation for personal growth and learning new technologies to support the team's needs. Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
