Quality Engineer Industry: Manufacturing Job Location: Pune (Wasuli, Chakan, Phase 2) Experience: 2+ Years Salary: Up to ₹5 LPA Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (after 12th) / B.E. Mechanical Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days preferred Job Summary We are looking for a Quality Engineer with experience in mechanical quality inspection and manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for incoming material inspection, machined component inspection, final product inspection, quality documentation, vendor quality coordination, customer complaint handling, and continuous quality improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming & In-Process Quality Inspection • Perform quality inspection of incoming bought-out materials, machined components, and manufactured parts as per approved inspection standards. • Inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements. • Perform dimensional inspection using precision measuring instruments. • Conduct final inspection and acceptance testing of mechanical assemblies/products before dispatch. • Identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Quality Documentation & Records • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality records. • Prepare and maintain inspection checklists, inspection reports, quality procedures, and other quality documentation. • Maintain inspection data and reports using Microsoft Excel and Word. • Ensure compliance with established quality standards and inspection procedures. Vendor Quality Management • Coordinate with vendors regarding rejected or non-conforming materials. • Communicate quality issues and follow up with vendors for timely corrective actions. • Monitor supplier quality and provide inputs regarding vendor performance. • Support vendor quality improvement and compliance initiatives. Customer Complaints & CAPA • Handle and coordinate customer complaints related to product quality. • Investigate quality issues and identify root causes. • Support implementation and monitoring of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). • Ensure timely resolution of quality-related issues and maintain appropriate documentation. Cross-Functional Coordination • Work closely with Production, Design, Purchase, Stores, and Dispatch teams to resolve quality issues. • Provide quality-related inputs for material procurement and supplier evaluation. • Coordinate with Stores and Dispatch to ensure required quality checks are completed before material movement or product dispatch. • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve product reliability. Required Skills & Competencies • Good understanding of engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, tolerances, and mechanical components. • Hands-on knowledge of Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Indicator, and other inspection instruments. • Basic knowledge of Quality Control, inspection procedures, and quality documentation. • Knowledge of mechanical assembly inspection and acceptance testing will be an added advantage. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and coordination skills. • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word. • Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to inspection. • Ability to identify defects and recommend corrective actions. • Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently. Key Interactions Internal: • Reporting Manager • Purchase Department • Stores Department • Dispatch Department • Production Department • Design / Engineering Team External: • Customers • Vendors / Suppliers Candidate Profile • 2+ years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering / Quality Inspection / Mechanical Quality within a manufacturing environment. • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering after 12th or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. • Experience with mechanical components, machined parts, dimensional inspection, and engineering drawings will be preferred. • Candidates who can join immediately or within 30 days will be preferred. Working Conditions • Hands-on involvement in inspection and testing using precision measuring instruments. • Combination of shop-floor inspection, documentation, analysis, and reporting activities. • May require coordination with vendors and customers for quality-related issues.
