Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Execution & Site Supervision: Oversee all on-site construction, repair, and maintenance activities on a daily basis. Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to ensure work is carried out precisely. Supervise the work of contractors, subcontractors, and site labor to ensure adherence to project plans. Monitor project progress against the schedule, identify potential delays, and take corrective actions. Plan and manage the logistics of materials, machinery, and manpower on site. 2. Quality Control & Assurance: Inspect all incoming construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, bricks, etc.) for quality and compliance with specifications. Conduct regular quality checks at every stage of construction, from foundation to finishing. Maintain mandatory site records, including the site diary, cube test register, and material consumption records. Ensure all work complies with relevant IS Codes and MES Standard Schedule of Rates (SSR). 3. Quantity Surveying & Billing: Take precise measurements of completed work for the preparation of contractor bills. Assist in the preparation and verification of Running Account (RA) Bills and the final bill. Track quantities of materials used against the BOQ to prevent wastage and manage inventory. 4. Coordination & Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact on-site, liaising with the Assistant Garrison Engineer (AGE) and Garrison Engineer (GE). Coordinate with contractors to resolve any technical queries or site issues. Prepare and submit Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports detailing site activities, progress, and challenges. 5. Health & Safety: Implement and enforce strict site safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. Conduct regular safety briefings (toolbox talks) for the site workforce. Required Qualifications & Skills: Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Site Engineer in building construction, repair, and maintenance projects. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and understanding architectural and structural drawings. Strong knowledge of building materials, construction processes, and quality testing procedures. Experience with quantity estimation and bill preparation. Familiarity with IS Codes and standard construction specifications. Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) for reporting. Desired Experience (Preferred): Prior experience working on government projects, particularly with MES, CPWD, or other public sector undertakings, is highly desirable.
