Role Description The Resident Engineer will provide on-site technical oversight and quality assurance for waterproofing and design works at project locations. This full-time role involves supervising construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, monitoring material usage and installation practices, and coordinating with contractors and site teams to resolve technical issues. The Resident Engineer will conduct inspections and tests, prepare daily and periodic site reports, document non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project quality standards. The role also includes liaising with clients and internal consultants, supporting failure investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement of site processes and safety practices. Qualifications • Strong foundation in civil / structural engineering, preferably with exposure to waterproofing, repair, and rehabilitation of concrete and building structures with 10 years of experience in the field of waterproofing. • Practical knowledge of construction materials, construction chemicals, and site quality control procedures, including inspection and basic testing methods. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical data sheets, and ensure accurate implementation on site. • Proficiency in documentation and reporting, including daily progress reports, quality checklists, non-conformance notes, and photographic records. • Good communication and coordination skills to interact effectively with clients, contractors, workers, and internal technical teams. • Commitment to safety, adherence to standards, and a detail-oriented approach to identifying defects and potential risks. • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; prior site experience in building construction or waterproofing is an advantage.
