Job Description

You will create and release detailed 3D models, 2D production drawings, and PLM records for compressor components and assemblies. Primary focus areas include gears, impellers, pistons, crankshafts, and welded sub assemblies , ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and cost targets. This role requires close collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to support New Product Development and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using PTC Creo for rotating and reciprocating compressor components. Create and maintain PLM records including BOMs, ECO/ECN documentation, and revision control. Design for manufacturability : apply GD&T, tolerance stacks, and material selection to ensure producible parts. Component-specific design : design and validate gears, impellers, pistons, crankshafts , seals, and housings. Welding and fabrication input : specify welding processes, joint details, and weld symbols; collaborate with welding engineers to ensure structural integrity. Support prototyping and testing , participate in design reviews, and implement feedback from testing and field data. Cost and supplier engagement : prepare RFQ packages, review supplier drawings, and support supplier qualification. This set of responsibilities aligns with standard Creo design engineering roles in manufacturing environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 3+ years of hands‑on experience with PTC Creo for part and assembly modeling. Experience with PLM systems (Windchill or equivalent) for document control and change management. Proven experience designing gears, impellers, pistons, and crankshafts for rotating/reciprocating machinery. Practical knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, SMAW, brazing) and ability to specify weld details on drawings. Preferred SkillsFamiliarity with FEA basics for stress and modal checks. Experience with surface modeling for impellers and aerodynamic components. Knowledge of heat treatment, surface finishing, and material selection for high‑stress components. Prior exposure to compressor design or rotating machinery is a strong plus
