Job Description

Position Overview • Own the Cross-Border side of the ShopSe platform end-to-end — the full cross-border transaction lifecycle from checkout and payment initiation through FX conversion, authorisation, settlement, refunds and reconciliation — including owning ShopSe’s integrations with cross-border payment partners (PA-CB licensed aggregators, international PGs and banks). • Senior IC role with full ownership of measurable outcomes and clear accountability for results. • Reports directly to the Director of Product. Works closely with cross-functional teams — cross-border payment partners, banks, lenders, tech, design, finance-ops and compliance. • Drives sprint-on-sprint improvements in cross-border payment success rates and settlement TAT and month-on-month growth in processed volume (GMV) across corridors and partners. No drop-off in the cross-border funnel goes un-addressed for more than 2 sprints. • Owns the full cross-border payment funnel — checkout, payment-method selection, currency presentment, authentication, authorisation and settlement — and is accountable for conversion at every stage, from first intent to settled transaction. In this role, you have the opportunity to … • Own the cross-border engine of one of India’s fastest-scaling fintechs. • Define the cross-border partner integration, FX and settlement strategy from the ground up. • Build the cross-border stack that powers ShopSe’s next phase of geography and partner expansion. • Work directly with leadership on FY27 planning and shape the cross-border product roadmap. Responsibilities will include …Functional Expertise • Cross-Border Success & Checkout Conversion: — Own the end-to-end cross-border transaction funnel — checkout, currency presentment, authentication, authorisation and confirmation. Drive sprint-on-sprint improvements in success rates (SR) and checkout conversion across corridors through experimentation and friction removal. • Cross-Border Partner Integrations: — Own ShopSe’s integrations with cross-border payment partners — PA-CB licensed aggregators, international PGs and correspondent banks — end-to-end: scoping, API integration, certification, go-live and steady-state monitoring. Track the funnel and success rates corridor-by-corridor and partner-by-partner, and drive fixes with partner teams. • FX, Pricing & Corridor Economics: — Own FX conversion and mark-ups, multi-currency pricing and presentment (DCC vs local currency), corridor-level unit economics and partner commercials. Balance customer experience against margin per transaction. • Settlements, Refunds & Reconciliation: — Own cross-border settlement cycles, nostro/escrow flows, refunds and the multi-currency reconciliation engine across partners and banks. Reduce settlement TAT, recon breaks and refund turnaround time. • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Must be well-versed in cross-border regulations and guidelines, including RBI's PA-CB framework, FEMA and LRS. AI as a First-Class Lever • Bring an AI-first approach to product and operations — use AI to write BRDs and PRDs, accelerate research and competitive analysis, assist multi-currency reconciliation and compliance operations, and identify opportunities where AI meaningfully improves success rates and funnel visibility. Interaction • Cross-Functional Coordination: — Cross-border payment partners, banks, tech, design, finance-ops, compliance. Weekly tech syncs, monthly business reviews, quarterly planning. • Partner Empathy: — Stay close to cross-border payment partners. Join partner review calls, sit in on support and dispute escalations and identify where cross-border payments break and how to fix them. Problem Solving • Funnel & Cohort Analytics: — Read the cross-border funnel, run cohort analyses on success rates, failures (by corridor, method and partner), FX take-rates and settlements, and own the dashboards that drive your KRAs. Separate real product gaps from partner- and bank-side effects. • Experimentation: — Design and run A/B tests at velocity across the cross-border checkout and payment funnel. Build a culture of evidence over opinion across the product team. • Strategic Vision: — Translate FY26–27 ambition into a sequenced roadmap. Defend it with data when priorities collide. Qualification & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field; MBA preferred but not mandatory. • 5–8 years in product management, with 3+ years owning cross-border payments or international product surfaces. • Direct experience in the cross-border domain — cross-border payments/collections, remittances, international acquiring or PA-CB — is required. Hands-on experience of partner integrations and a deep understanding of cross-border money movement: onboarding, transaction processing, FX, settlement, refunds and disputes. • Proven track record of moving success rates, checkout conversion, corridor volume or settlement metrics — with numbers. • Experience working with cross-border payment partners and banks, and integrating payment APIs, webhooks, multi-currency reconciliation files and dispute flows. • Strong working knowledge of cross-border rails and regulation — RBI’s PA-CB framework, FEMA and LRS, SWIFT and card-scheme cross-border flows, UPI international, AML/KYC and sanctions screening, and settlement, nostro and escrow norms. • Hands-on fluency with AI tools in daily product work — LLM assistants for spec writing, prompt design for research and analysis, and a clear point of view on where AI fits in a cross-border stack. • Excellent written and verbal communication. Crisp PRDs.
