Role Description The Mechanical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sivakasi, supporting the design, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment used in manufacturing and related operations. People situated in and around the area are preferred. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and reviewing mechanical components, collaborating with production teams to improve machine performance and reliability. The role involves conducting technical evaluations, performing root-cause analysis of equipment issues, and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance solutions. The Mechanical Engineer will participate in process improvements, support safety and compliance initiatives, manage small to medium engineering projects, and coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of engineering tasks. Qualifications • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply core mechanical principles to industrial equipment and manufacturing processes. • Proficiency in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating, reviewing, and modifying mechanical parts, assemblies, and layouts. • Experience in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and documentation of engineering projects. • Exposure to Research and Development (R&D), with skills in evaluating new materials, technologies, and methods to improve performance and safety. • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, maintenance, and management teams. • Hands-on experience with industrial machinery, troubleshooting, and maintenance; experience in mining, metals, or related heavy industry is an advantage. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment manuals.
